Allison Clemens, DVM

Dr. Clemens earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Delaware with a major in Animal Science-Pre-veterinary concentration and minors in Biology and Chemistry. She has been a team member at Hickory Veterinary Hospital since July of 2003 both as an emergency clinician and in general practice.  She has a special interest in small animal exotic mammals, as well as dogs and cats. 

Exotic pets seen by Dr. Clemens include ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats. She performs ovariohysterectomies and castrations on all small mammals, teeth trimming on rodents and lagamorphs, dental cleanings on ferrets, mass removals on all species, as well as insulinoma and adrenal surgery on ferrets. She also performs routine nail, beak, and wing trims on avian species. Dr. Clemens will also do routine surgeries and dentals on dogs and cats. 

In her free time Dr. Clemens enjoys spending time with her family as well as practicing agility and obedience training with her Rottweiler.
