Laura Barth, VMD
Laura Barth was born and raised in Southeast Asia and Oregon. She received her BS in Bioresource Research and Animal Science from Oregon State University in 2003. Soon after, she moved to Philadelphia and received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. While in school, Laura worked as an emergency veterinary technician, participated in spay and neuter clinics for rural and low income communities, and conducted infectious disease research.
Laura has been a part of PVSEA at Hickory since graduation. Although she primarily works with general medicine and emergency cases, she also performs some routine surgeries, CT scans and dentistries. Her professional interests include emergency and critical care medicine, shelter medicine, and public health.
Outside of the clinic, Laura spends time with her fiance Matt who is a food animal veterinarian, their Rhodesian Ridgeless and two cats. she enjoys running, biking, competing in triathlons, hiking, canoeing and fly fishing.
