Doctor Profile

Kristine Kelso, BVMS, MRCVS (intern)
Kristine was born and raised in southern California in a family which adored its menagerie of pets, thus fueling her interest in veterinary medicine since childhood. In 2003, she received her BS in Animal Science from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Prior to attending veterinary school, Kristine worked as a registered veterinary technician with a progressive small animal hospital in California. In 2006 she moved to Scotland, UK after being accepted into Glasgow University Veterinary School. While at Glasgow, Kristine was able to participate in veterinary and animal research-based travels which took her to India to help a non-profit shelter treat the overwhelming population of street animals in Ahmedabad, and to North Cyprus to aid in sea turtle conservation, medicine, and research. Kristine graduated in 2011 with her BVMS degree (Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery) with a distinction in small animal clinical studies and was inducted into the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Kristine was awarded an internship with PVSEA at Hickory upon graduation and will be working closely with the specialists and primary care doctors throughout the next year. Although intrigued by all aspects of veterinary medicine, her professional interests include radiology, ophthalmology, and oncology.
Outside of the hospital, Kristine spends time with her fiancé Chris and their boisterous cat, Caleb. She enjoys sailing, swimming, hiking, camping, fresh water fishing, community volunteering, or any other activity that gets her outdoors and enjoying life.
