Veterinary Technician Opportunities
Pennsylvania Veterinary and Specialty Associates welcomes qualified veterinary technicians in providing a high level of quality care for our patients and clients. We consider experienced candidates for the following positions:
Outpatient Technician
Perform variety of animal health care duties to assist our outpatient veterinarians in our busy 24/7 emergency, specialty and wellness hospital.
Some of the outpatient technician’s responsibilities include:
- Greet Clients and set up doctor appointments.
- Take patient history and triage
- Administer injections
- Perform venipuncture
- Apply wound dressings
- Hold or restrain patients during examination, treatment, or inoculation
- Prepare patient, medications, and equipment
- Perform diagnostic laboratory tests
- Advise clients on preventative care
- Take patient history
- Cleanliness of the facility?
Inpatient Technicians
Perform variety of animal health care duties to assist our inpatient veterinarians and Internal Medicine specialists in our busy 24/7 emergency, specialty and wellness hospital.
Some of the inpatient technician’s responsibilities include:
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
- Assist with inpatient physical examinations
- Contact clients for follow up on treated patients
- Update clients on patient’ conditions
- Run laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Provide emergency/critical care
- Cleanliness of the facility
Surgical Technicians
Perform variety of animal health care duties to assist our surgical veterinarians in our busy 24/7 emergency, specialty and wellness hospital.
Some of the surgical technician’s responsibilities include:
- Assist in preparations for surgical procedures (soft tissue, orthopedic, emergency and elective)
- Monitor patients under anesthesia
- Run laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Post operative care of patients
- Equipment care for surgery
- Discharge patients
- Dental Care
- Cleanliness of the facility.
Emergency/Overnight Technicians
Perform variety of animal health care duties to assist our emergency/overnight veterinarians in our busy 24/7 emergency, specialty and wellness hospital.
Some of the emergency/overnight technician’s responsibilities include:
- Assist in surgical procedures
- Run laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Provide emergency and critical care
- Monitor patients throughout the night
- Update owners of hospitalized patients
- Provide compassionate care for Emergency patients
- Duties associated with outpatient responsibilities
- Cleanliness of the facility
