Elizabeth Mary Schuda

Elizabeth is a Philadelphia local and happy to be spending a bit of time closer to her mom, dad, and friends.

She attended the Pennsylvania State University where she earned a Journalism degree with double minors in Italian and International Studies. In New York City, she worked a handful of odd-jobs in the art and fashion industries. Eventually she found herself dog walking on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and working at a yoga studio.

After returning to the Philadelphia suburbs to work at a local veterinary clinic, she decided to collect her (extremely overpacked) bags and move to Australia – a bucket list destination where she desperately wanted to live. Elizabeth attended the University of Melbourne where she earned her Veterinary Medicine degree. The experience was enlightening in every possible way and she continues to keep in close contact with her Australia friends scattered throughout the world.

After four beautiful years in Melbourne she and her partner, a New Zealand native, relocated to Philadelphia. Elizabeth joined Hickory Veterinary Hospital in May 2017 and works as an emergency and general practice veterinarian. Her special interests include emergency, internal medicine and acupuncture for the management of chronic pain.

Outside of work Elizabeth and her partner are busy searching for the best local bowl of pho, exploring several nearby hike and bike trails, and wandering the country in their tiny blue car. In her downtime Elizabeth practices hot yoga, works on her novice indoor rock climbing skills, and is finally reading the Harry Potter series.
