Dr. Dhara Patel is a native of Bucks County and has recently made her way back to Newtown, which she calls home. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she studied both psychology and chemistry. In pursuit of her degree in veterinary medicine, she moved to the island of St. Kitts to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and she completed her clinical year at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine.
Before joining us at Hickory, Dr. Patel worked in lower Delaware at a busy 24-hour general practice and emergency facility. Dr. Patel’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is the human-animal bond. She enjoys helping to nurture and contribute to the special relationships that people form with their beloved pets. She also has special interests in dentistry, chronic pain management, and rehabilitation. During her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and taking Naan, her cat, on walks (which usually convert to stroller rides!).
