Dr. Guth grew up in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia with her dog, Sheba, and a parade of cats and a couple of horses along the way. She studied English Literature and Biology at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. before returning to Philadelphia to attend University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
She worked in mixed small animal practice and even dabbled in equine and exotic medicine, before finding a niche in feline medicine, which grew into her professional passion, opening Caring for Cats in Manayunk in 2005. Caring for Cats was sadly destroyed by flood in 2021, and a year later she is excited to be a member of the Hickory Veterinary Hospital family.
An avid reader, traveler and sports fan - her greatest joy is her son, who is a Division 1 pitcher in college. She shares her home with her English Lab, Morgan, and her rascally rescue cat, Hugh.
