Dr. Michael Messina graduated with a B.S. in Biology from University of Pennsylvania, later graduating from University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine with his VMD. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2011, first through a rotating internship of emergency and specialty medicine in the Boston area, then in general practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Messina joined the Hickory Veterinary Primary Care team in 2024. His areas of special interest include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, exotic pet medicine and practicing Fear Free techniques.
Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Messina now resides in Wyncote with his wife, two children, black cat named Poe, and Norwegian Buhund named Freya. He enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, board games, cards, and disc golf in his free time.
